Story
We’ve all read the headlines about how our healthcare system is facing significant challenges in the care of older adults. A growing population of seniors with limited options has made us all feel concerned.
There are options however, and we believe home care is the best one available. Continue to live at home with minimal changes, or in some cases more significant changes, but these changes could take place where you feel most secure and comfortable – at home. There are a lot of agencies providing services but in talking to older adults (and their families) who were receiving home care, it became apparent that some of these agencies were doing a great job and some were not.
Feeling cared about, empathy, consistency, reliability and trust are important to older adults who receive home care. We have a built a team that is on a mission to deliver this level of exceptional care.
We also know what’s missing in home care – engagement, fun and being social. Personal/physical care is clearly the priority but ensuring emotional and mental health is focused on is just as important to maintaining overall wellness.
Yes there is. Our service includes providing emotional engagement, or what we’re calling social care for all of our clients in every visit. It only made sense to us that just living at home independently wasn’t enough. Living at home feeling comfort, joy, happiness and being connected to other people was absolutely essential.
We may not have solved all the issues that we read in the news headlines, but we have a good plan on how to make them better.
